Finding Serenity

Finding serenity in our bustling day-to-day is often challenging. Yet there are a few things that will do the trick for me every time without fail: the loving embrace of my boyfriend after a hard day, the crackling fire in an open fireplace and the seashore. The coast is but a place where the land meets the sea, an ever-changing canvas painted in different hues every day. Subtle and harsh forces clash here in a neverending ebb and flow, while the two elements compete and merge, yet its busyness seems to soothe me like nothing else. Spending time at the seaside is one of my favourite pastimes; come rain or shine, I’m down there to listen to the water playing with the pebbles, to collect rocks and to watch the birds get on with their daily routine. This picture was taken on a cloudy Saturday morning on Bray beach, just south of Dublin, Ireland.

This post is in response to The Daily Post’s weekly photo challenge: Serene.
